One day, this woman was taken with a new fad, that of knitting. The Cat observed her for a long time with a mocking air before approaching to pull the pretty yarn across his apartment. And what a discovery! Playing with the yarn all night long, he didn’t lose himself a single time in the apartment. Thus, from that day forward, the Cat taught the Woman to no longer put away her knitting at nightfall. Like Ariadne’s thread, the wool guides him every night.
